School District of Philadelphia, A. J. Morrison Elementary School

A. J. Morrison School suffered from overcrowding, holding several classes in temporary modular classrooms and off-site locations. The School District of Philadelphia commissioned BHA to design an addition that would house all students within one building.

BHA designed two separate additions, the northern wing and the southern wing. The three-story northern wing is a 12 classroom addition, including specialty classroom with a technology laboratory and computer and science classrooms. The southern wing consists of a new, one-story gymnasium. BHA also renovated the existing building, which included upgrading several classrooms, the modernization of the existing Home Economics room, creation of a new Music Room and library.
