The Arch Street residence involved taking a corner lot, which was formerly a one-story diner, and building a completely new structure incorporating two separate houses. The project is located in the heart of the Old City Historic District and required community support, Historic Commission approval, Planning Commission approval and Streets Department approval. We were able to negotiate these agencies' concerns of blending with the fabric of the existing neighborhood, while being a fresh modern loft style home for the owner with parking for three vehicles, a large roof deck, elevator, 4 bedrooms and full basement.
