The design of the Structural Engineering Testing and Research Laboratory at Villanova University combines a state-of-the-art facility with student and faculty work areas. Incorporated into the building is a reinforced “reaction wall” for structural testing. A reinforced “strong floor” supports various testing situations. An overhead crane moves large steel and concrete samples to the testing areas. Other facilities include two self-contained rooms requiring specific humidity and temperature controls used for environment-sensitive experiments.
