We are interested in candidates with strong design, graphic and rendering skills to utilize their talents in the schematic design phases of our projects, while learning the technical aspects of the profession to become skilled project architects. We are seeking a well-qualified, senior mechanical engineer to join our ever-expanding team. Responsibilities include design and documentation of HVAC systems, sizing and specification of mechanical equipment including: buidling central plants, boilers, chillers, air handling units, cooling towers, fan coil units, variable air volume units, exhaust fans, computer room air conditions units and pumps; specification and design of mechanical equipment controls; coordination of specified equipment with other trades; performing psychometric calculations for sizing coils, pump head calculations and fan static pressure calculations; ability to utilize HAP or TRACE load calculation software to dtermine building loads; sizing and design of ductwork and piping on drawings; performing field site surveys, document existing conditions and recommend design solutions while working with other disciplines throughout the project; development of mechanical design specifications using master spec software and performing construction administration.
A Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering, along with 7+ years experience in mechanical system design are required. A strong working knowledge of local code requirements and standards, including IMC, IFGC, IPC, NFPA, ASHRAE and IBC for new construction and renovation is also needed. The ideal candidate must be proficient in AutoCAD and have a working knowledge of Revit.
