Cristo Rey Philadelphia High School

Cristo Rey Philadelphia

Cristo Rey Philadelphia is an independent, Catholic high school for students of all faiths, who could otherwise not afford a private education. The School opened in 2012 and its curriculum combines rigorous academics with professional work experience in businesses where the students are mentored by college-educated adults. To date there are 32 Cristo Rey Network high schools operating successfully across the United States.

Cristo Rey Philadelphia purchased a 5-acre site, located at 17th and Allegheny Avenue, that includes a 5-story, 55,000 sf heavy timber and masonry warehouse building. The goal was to develop a new high school campus on the property to accommodate 600 students. The project includes a renovation of the historic warehouse building, a 48,000 sf addition for school program spaces, administrative offices and a gymnasium/ health center, a new turf soccer field, parking and outdoor instructional and gathering spaces.
